FAREWELL TALOOLA

Taloola (formerly Betsy) came into rescue in 2009. She and her brother, Grant, were saved from a life that was beyond grim. They were kept in broken down wooden crates in the woods, with moldy food and snakes crawling through. They were used for breeding. We had a chance to get them and we did. These two were so incredibly sweet, in spite of all they had been through. We had to shave them down completely, including their tails. It probably felt wonderful to be clean and have the feeling of air on their skin. They were able to roll around on the grass and feet-- what a joy!At her foster home with Jeanne, she was able to experience love, a soft bed and Peke friends to play with. She was adopted and blossomed even more. Her coat grew out some and she was a beloved member of the family.Taloola died today-- she was in respiratory failure. She was struggling to breathe even on full oxygen and nothing could be done to save her. Her family is devastated. So are we. When we lose one of our former fosters, it hits us hard. We are so sorry. Rest in peace, sweet Taloola.

I'm so very sorry to hear that - what a shock! Did she live with her brother? Will he miss her? That is so sad. What a precious pair of dogs and thank you for making her final years joyful!

When I look at the photographs here, I think of the old Jim Croce song "photographs and memories". They made a difference and Taloola made a difference for them....

Taloola, or Betsy was a great dog, i was her owner, she brought such joy to me, she was always there for me. Taloola was a smart dog, i think the day before her death she knew she was going to die. She showed us everything about her one last time, most important to me was she showed me how she showed her love to us. Ill miss he dearly.
